Equipment calibration and maintenance will be carried out in accordance with manufacturers recommendations.

 

A register of all equipment is held that identifies the piece of equipment and records the frequency of maintenance and calibration. Safety critical equipment such as ladders will be routinely inspected before use on every occasion, with any defects being reported to the Operations Manager.

 

Equipment will be suitably labelled and identified by an appropriate label to denote status of the equipment. Defective equipment must be returned to the office immediately and labelled as defective. Under no circumstances should defective equipment be used.

 

Calibration will be carried out to national standards by an appropriately approved organisation. Staff will be trained in the use of equipment, as appropriate.
